Our New Subaru Lineup:
Highlights
In 2023, Subaru refreshed the design of its family car by giving it a new grille, bumper, and headlights. The Sport trim level received an upgrade to a 260-horsepower turbocharged 2.4-liter engine. Additionally, the Touring XT grade includes a new wide-angle cam, which enhances the field of vision for the car's EyeSight® system. Automatic emergency steering is also one of the driver assist functions.
Performance
The new Legacy comes standard with a 2.5-liter flat-four that generates 182 horsepower. An available 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer-four that generates 260 horsepower serves as an upgrade. Both motors provide power via the sedan's standard continuously variable transmission (CVT) to the all-wheel drive (AWD) axles.
The greatest fuel efficiency comes via a Legacy with the non-turbo engine, which achieves an EPA-estimated 27/35 mpg city/highway. When compared to other mid-size sedans, it holds its own admirably. Compared to FWD vehicles, the Legacy turbo's EPA-estimated 24/32 mpg fuel efficiency rating puts it in the same ballpark.
Design
The Legacy's interior, especially the cabin, seems considerably larger than it really is, despite its dimensions being almost identical to those of the outgoing model. The materials used inside are all practical and complement the cabin's design. All seats arrive upholstered in regular cloth. The front seats are supportive and ergonomic, and in the higher versions, the driver's seat may manually extend to accommodate passengers with longer legs.
Despite significant upgrades, the 2023 Subaru Legacy retains one of its finest features, an attractive price tag. Subaru includes an All-Weather Package, a heated and leather steering wheel, and a 10-way power driver's seat.
The Legacy Limited brings a push-button start, a punched leather interior, and warm posterior seats. Also, the Touring XT has air-conditioned anterior seats, an amazing moonroof, and satin mirror caps.
Safety Features
Customary to all new Subaru cars is the EyeSight® driver-support package, which entails lane-keeping tech, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking. The top-tier Legacy Touring XT will have a more competent wide-angle front camera as part of the upgraded EyeSight® system, which will also contain a new control program and an electronic brake enhancer for the 2023 model year. A heads-up screen and LED headlights are standard amenities, while rear cross-traffic monitoring is among the optional driver assistance features.
Trim Levels
For 2023, the redesigned Legacy sedan will be available in five trim levels: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring XT.
Technology
New features are available for the car's infotainment system for 2023. The touchscreen-based system that is now common on the Legacy Premium trim level and above is likely to be the major draw for most. It is now compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which wirelessly connect. Additionally, Valet Mode and the What3words navigation software, which allows users to convey specific locations with only three words, are available for the system. The heated steering wheel that can rotate 360 degrees will now be standard on the Sport and Touring XT trim levels.
