The fifth generation of Subaru Forester improved upon the model design with a few fundamental changes. The 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness utilizes technologies and systems such as Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and the enhanced dual-function X-MODE for more dexterity on a variety of roads. The suspension system allows for optimal power distribution between all four wheels of the vehicle for better grip in traction regardless of weather conditions. The 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness models include standard continuously variable automatic transmission systems that provide smooth, seamless shifts and transitions while driving. Furthermore, drivers will find that while most other Subaru Forester trims have a towing capacity of around 1,500 pounds, the Subaru Forester Wilderness manages to double that capacity and offers drivers a limit of 3,000 pounds while towing.
For drivers that frequently find themselves in sunny areas, the anti-glare hood finish will reduce sun glare and improve visibility while off the road. The standard Subaru Forester Wilderness also includes a number of exterior anodized copper finish accents for a more stylish design.
Interior technologies such as the front-view monitor are designed to monitor conditions better. When combined with Subaru's responsive and intuitive STARLINK infotainment system, navigation through the area becomes much easier for drivers. The STARLINK infotainment system connects drivers to an array of safety services while simultaneously providing an accessible means for smartphone connectivity and other app services. The interior cabin of the Forester Wilderness uses quality StarTex upholstery to provide both drivers and passengers with a supportive, clean, and comfortable seating option. All-weather floor mats are included to handle dirty, muddy shoes and clothes, and drivers will find that the Forester Wilderness offers a class-leading cargo capacity of up to 69.1 cubic feet.
The Forester Wilderness models feature the redesigned EyeSight driver assistance safety suite. This suite includes a variety of driver assistance systems such as lane-keep technology, automatic pre-collision braking, and adaptive cruise control, which are designed for better surveillance, dexterity, and safety.
Additionally, the Forester Wilderness boasts high safety ratings in numerous crash tests, achieving positive ratings in tests including front crash prevention. Other characteristics of the Forester Wilderness, such as all-terrain tires, promote a more stable drive, even in poor weather conditions.
